Title: a few questions.....again.
Post by: kingaz on 04 March 2013, 20:05
The pennies roll in on the 20th so was thinking.. new exhaust..straight through. Whats best 2.5 inch or 3 inch?
A remap... anyone know anywhere local to stafford?
Also thinking a ko3s..is there much gain from the ko3 to the ko3s?
Would it be better to get the mods such as exhaust and ko3s before the remap or will it not make a difference?
Also thinking some big brakes..dont wanna spend mega money on brembos or something, so was wondering if any other brakes fit? From bigger cars etc..? For example my escort turbo had cossie brakes on and they were pennies..

Would it be possible to have the remap then a k03s later on or would it then need another remap?
Also what other mods r availible cus im not liking the slowness of this golf.

Also getting it plugged in tmoz so finally find out why its toppin at 107 and takin forever to get there.

One more thing...my mums passat has miles to empty on the trip..can i get this for mine?

Thought id ask all these in one go rather than spreading over a million posts

Thankksss

get all the mods done then remap it...if you remap it and then fit the exhaust and ko3s then you will need to remap it again..I have to get mine remapped again but will now have to wait till i fit the fmi. The ko3s makes a nice difference.

if you are going to change the turbo get a hybrid from 1 of the members on here an ask him what supporting mods you need before the map

And for brakes you can get the bigger 312mm discs and carriers use your calipers.

you want to make sure its running smoothly before thinking about a remap, make sure there are no boost leaks etc, you have started a few topics about the car not running right, so you should spend the money on getting these bits sorted first. Once you have happy the car is running smooth, then look at the mods, such as exhaust, turbo and the like.
Lastly get it remapped. R-Tech is about an hour from you, and from what i understand its worth the drive. You are looking at about 25-30 extra bhp from a ko3s once remapped.

Yeah dont worry its gna be runnning 100% in the next few days.
Wouldnt mod until its sorted.
What sort of prices r the rtech maps?
How much do ko3s go for and is it a straigh swap for the ko3?

Just had the car plugged in...
5 faults.. cleared um then popped for a drive. Plugged in again and one fault came up.. mass air flow sensor.. quick look under the bonnet and i realised i hadnt put the plug back on to the sensor   :lipsrsealed:
Soooooo plugged it back and everything seems fine. More responsive and no spluttering on tickover.
Thinkkkk all my problems r solved now. Well ill know when i try a top speed run...
