Title: automatic gear shift no longer illuminated

light went out, are these prone to blow? car still drives alright. i thought this goes out when the ecu finds a tranny problem?  anyone with an auto box ever have this happen?

My wife's has this mate it goes out then comes back on but I think there mite be a loose connection somewhere

Yeah I just replaced mine with an blue LED and resistor (can't remember what resistance)

One thing to check while you've got the cover off is the switch that checks if it is in park. I found the connection a bit dodgy and sometimes the engine wouldn't start as a result. I just cleaned up the contacts with sand paper :)

so antone have a guide to how to take the cover off and where is the bulb located??much appreciated for the help. thanks beforehand.
