Never know where to post alarm problems :) so here goes
The last couple of days the big LED light on my concept 50 has been playing up.
If you know this alarm, when deactivated the led is of and when it is active it flashes, but the led has come constant on when i am driving and when activated it flashes and goes from bright to a dim light, instead of bright to off and on again.
anyone got any ideas on this?

sounds like it's in valet mode to me.
-
Yeah, it the same as vallet mode, but it's not :)
Could be an earthing problem? or is this a warning from the alarm that the internal battery may be dying? as as soon as i drive for a few minutes it goes out and it's all fine!

Instruction manual for clifford concept 50 uk here

or main user site is

Does sound like it's in Valet mode but that disables when you turn the ignition back on flat remote battery will only give you half a muted chirp on arm/ disarm. try putting it in proper valet mode with the clearview valet switch and then turn ignition on and off might just cure it.

Cheers mate, i have the manual (somewhere)
I already tried your suggeston, did not work :(
-
Been a while mate try this! put it in valet mode and pull both fuses to the alarm this will clear any glitches but hopefully not programming, alternatively you can do a factory reset if you have the installer manual or take it to a clifford dealer never used to cost anything for clifford checks and problems at my old place iirc.
-
Good thinking, i know where one fuse is :) no idea where the other one is!
I'll trace all leads i think and see id anything is loose. I tried putting it into vallet mode but it would not go? this must be the problem, ironic that vallet mode does not workbut the LED shows that the function is on all the time
"If it ain't one thing it's your mother"

Where can I get replacement remotes for this model?
-
I don't know mate, i need to get a new one, as the buttons are going on the one i have!
Have you had any problems like mine?
-
You could just disconnect the battery but if it's not in Valet mode your siren will blare away for a while can you use the remote to put it in valet mode?

Cheers mate!
-
U fixed it Deefadog????
-
Sort of, i disconnected the battery and re-connected it, seens to be ok, except the cebtral locking don't work now!
Do you think there is a loose connection on the central locking?
-
no man probably need to change the locking from positive to negative or vice versa shud b in your install manual!!
u can do it!!!
-
I have only the owners manual! I have not got the install one!
Why would this have changed? it has been working for well over a year, amd i have disconnected he battery many times before?
-
maybe a fuse went when you put it all back together? maybe it's just bloody Cliffrods they do what they want when they want and usually annoy the owner!!!!!!!
too damn clever they are thats why too damn clever! like when your rushing it knows to mess about with the auto immobilise just to wind you up!!!!
-
Got to get this fixed :)
The central locking is the vacume type, and i believe only works from the drivers door.
Question - how does the alarm wire for the central locking connect to? is it the door or straight to the pump in the boot?
Cheers
-
usually it's linked to a master motor in the drivers door so when you lock the alarm it pulls the drivers side lock closed and triggers the other locks as the drivers side is only a switch so you can lock all doors from the drivers door. or a motor in each door depends how it was fitted. You could try using the key to lock the drivers door if it works you've got a problem with your alarm and know where to start!!
-
Thanks!
I think i found the problem! I think either the rod coming up is rubbing or getting stuck, or the motor is on it's way out! because sometimes it really makes a noise, and sometimes it does not?
Am i right in thinking that the motor is there just for the alarm? as i can activate the central locking with the key
