As a thread has been locked......
I dont do research because I have experience.
Many hundred thousands of miles.
At the peak I was doing 50 to 60 thousand miles a year
That equates to 3 sets of tyres in a year.
I do therefore know what wears out tyres quicker than they should.
The worst offender is tracking, but a close second is tyre pressure.
In my experience of now 42 years 2 psi harder does make a difference and will wear the centre of the tyre quicker that the outside.
Temperature - maybe this does have some bearing on high profile tyres 60 or 70 ratio.
But 40/45 profiles most of us run makes no difference.
Sidewalls are much stronger these days
There was an old wives tale or pub tlak that it was good to reduce tyre pressure in the winter.
Yokohama tyres do wear out very quickly. I had a pair on the rear of my Pug Mi16 and they only lasted 8,000 miles!
Best I ever got out of a set of tyres was 22,000 miles but they were Michelins which are not so good for grip.
