Title: AGU Clutch
Post by: Taylor777 on 28 February 2013, 11:39
Hi guys,

Im new to the site and in need of some advice!

Im looking to upgrade my clutch in my 1.8t agu, its currently running somewhere between 260 and 280 bhp.

The clutch im using at the moment was custom made for me by a local company but it cant cope with the power when acelerating from a stand still.

ECS do a stage 2 clutch that i can buy through Awesome GTI but its £434, went on the ECS website and it works out at about £340 from the states but im a bit dubious about importing it in.

Has any one got any suggestions or know what would be best to use considering the car will be nearer the 300bhp mark this year?

Thanks

Sam

A lot of people run the G60 / Vr6 upgrade: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=87775.0

I am sure it will cope all ok.

Thanks Wayne,

ive read a few posts and looked at quite a few clutches online and alot of them say that set up will handle up to 260ish so not keen on running it if its not going to be any better
