has any1 done this using the turbo from a 1.6 GTD?
or anybody got any ideas? i was only wondering lol

I've always wondered things like that!!! like whats the difference between tdi + petrol turbo's? because a 150bhp tdi turbo was on Egay the other day and I nearly bought it "just to try" it was cheap enough as well maybe a cheap way to turbo your motor hmmmmm?
Someone must know the difference maybe I'm just dumb ;)

yeah found out the other day someone on here did it, have a check back through the posts to find the thread.

I thought it be impossilbe to turbo an 8v? I cant belive where the manifolds are on this car. I never minded changing the exhaust gasket but on this no fking way! Heard you have to take the inlet and everything out?
Where would the turbo sit, just under the car?

I've seen this done on various cars. Getting them running is one thing, but getting the best from it is something else !!
Firstly, the rear engine mount has to be moved to make way for the turbo - then you have all the issues with fueling and boost control and fettling the internals for the extra power and compression once you've had the nightmares of getting installed
I my mind it sounds like a cheap conversion, but usually ends in tears and a empty wallet !
Stick to the original VeeDub recipe and get a G60 lump. It'll be better supported, still forced induction and just as much fun !
