Post by: carpetviper on 27 February 2013, 17:33
After a 2 year break I've just bought me an early birthday present.

A 96 3dr vr6 and I can't wait for the weather to get nicer and get it just how I want.

Dunno about that but I relish a challenge lol.

Had a n reg 8valve before now I've just got a VR6 to pick up Friday for a steal.

Apparently I've been told they are insane but only time will tell.

Surprisingly though its cheaper to insure than my 2.5 Alfa sport

They are not that quick, as Tweed said about the same as the Alfa

The noise is insane if it has a proper exhaust on it and a decat....there good cruisers, you can go anywhere in 5th more or less effortlessly. Be easier to maintain than the Alfa.

Well I can say the VR6 is much quicker than the alfa and I know from first hand experience after owning both plus the golf gets more attention.

Modern Alfa will rust less than a mk3

I don't need to, modern Italian cars do not rust like they used to, look up mot failure rates and you will see what I mean.

Look up component failure rates, warranty claims and figures from the largest breakdown services and you'll see alfa right up there, always have been and always will be unreliable poorly made rubbish.

We were talking about rust but nothing is as reliable as it used to be even VW, they all seem to be cutting costs at the end of the day.

To be honest the alfa was a 2005 and it was a bag of sh!te. The vw is in much better condition and the floor isn't rusting through and the electrics all work
