Title: Proud New Owner, GT TDI (with pics)
Post by: popey on 26 February 2013, 22:46
What a day, left the house at 8.45am and not long been back (9.30pm)!!!

BUT...... it was worth it, the car was in great condition all round and looks very well for an 8 year old car with 62,000 on the clock (the leather interior is unmarked and looks stunning). I did take the time to verify the millage with VOSA (which matched the FSH). Icing on the cake was a receipt for £1300 from a VW main dealer for the supple and fit of a new turbo just 10,000 miles ago. According to VOSA the only advisory on any MOT on its history is a "slightly damaged front number plate".

I also had the car looked at by an independent local garage who got it on the ramp and gave it the once over.

To sum up:

Golf MKV 2.0 GT TDI 140
Black 3 door
17" Genuine VW alloys
62,000 miles (VOSA verified)
Full service history (cam belt and water pump done, new turbo at 51,000 miles by VW main dealer)
Duel Climate Control
Full leather seats
heated seats
2 keys

Bill £4800 (+£20 for inspection by local garage)

Only slight negative is a slightly lazy start, but I'm been very picky. (oh and some condensation in rear light clusters (on boot lid)

Thanks to everyone for all there help so far

Looks N sounds good. Don't worry bout the light clusters. Most do it. Seals are crap and the design for bulb change doesn't help.

Thanks, so far so good :)

Getting upto about 45mpg round town, mixed driving. Car drives great.

Taking it to my local VAG specialist (I used them for my TT) on monday for a full service on monday. Its not long had one but I will feel better knowing its been to a garage I have used before.

Just had a look at your build thread, looks amazing everything you have you have done is in great taste and subtle.

I have to be realistic with mine, it will be kept in 1st class condition but it will be doing a lot of miles, about 20k+ a year.

I love the the middle display on the dash, very cool!!

what was done to get the display? Presume its a highline MFD with additional tweaks via VAGCOM. Interesting display and would be interested in similar.
