A mate of mine needs a new g/box in his mk3 8v, will a 1.8 corrado box fit?
-
Cannhelp you there but a DFQ box is the right one if he has an agg engine
-
I thought the 8v had an 020 box?

Check this on eBay, it will give you a better idea of what can fit and what codes were used, item number: 261176263507

Cheers bud

I need to get me old gearbox re-cond too, diff went on old one, so bought a 2nd hand gearbox which has lasted 2 years and now reverse idler has packed in on this. It pops out of reverse if I'm harsh on the gas, otherwise nice and steady it's ok.

Another thing I want to add is that if a corrado g/box fits you may have to run corrado flywheel and clutch for it to work.
I know that you can use a MK2 golf gearbox on a MK3 GTI, but you have to use MK2 flywheel and clutch. So it may well be the same case.

Seems that you can use a mk3 8v box on a mk2 1.8 16v but not the raddo.

boneybradley mentions, corrado gearbox will fit, best asking him for advise dude, he sounds like he knows his stuff

The 16v Rado uses an 02A gearbox with hydro clutch I believe

any 020 type box will fit but they all suffer from the same issues
oh and they had different ratio's, clutches etc. best to find one from a mk3 (use my guide for gearbox codes)
b.t.w dfq etc is the code, 020 is the type
