1200miles ago I had a new head gasket done,
Head skimmed new bolts pressure test etc
Egr cleaned out as it was full of crap
I had new injector seals as well. I did however get told there was wear on the cam not major.
1st question
Since this work mainly in 1-2 gear I get on acceleration almost like a dump valve noise
Like air gettibg sucked in and chucked out,I thought maybe because not egr is clear???
2nd question
As of this week when starting the car early morning 5am I get a horribly fume smell
I don't think there's any smoke from looking this morning car vibrates like crazy once first started
But after 5seconds idles and drives lovely returning 50mpg cheers

1st thing sounds like a form of a boost leak from somewhere. 2nd thing, itll smell fumey anyway when starting it for a few seconds, but if u can smell it in the car something might not be fully tightened. as for the vibration, im unsure realy. i know its a bit late now as its all back together but it might have been a good idea to do the cam and lifters while the head was off

glow plugs usually cause rough idle in the mornings.
and fumes maybe where its not starting and excess fuel burning when it fires up
