Title: Advice for MK6
Post by: geezerlev on 25 February 2013, 22:37
Hey there,

I have been looking at used MK6 GTI's recently and have fallen upon this one:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201302235473436/sort/default/usedcars/transmission/manual/fuel-type/petrol/maximum-mileage/up_to_40000_miles/price-from/13000/model/golf/make/volkswagen/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/radius/60/postcode/tn39jh/keywords/gti/page/1?logcode=p (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201302235473436/sort/default/usedcars/transmission/manual/fuel-type/petrol/maximum-mileage/up_to_40000_miles/price-from/13000/model/golf/make/volkswagen/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/radius/60/postcode/tn39jh/keywords/gti/page/1?logcode=p)

Do you think the price is reasonable? Compared to others on Autotrader it seems very good value for the mileage, which kind of makes me a bit suspect!

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Always makes me wary when all a dealer has in his advert is a mobile number! Any google results for that dealer?

Hard to tell about the car from the pictures as they are'nt brilliant quality, seems to be missing a centre cap on one wheel they need checking their genuine aswell.

Seems a fair price but if it were my money I would go else where.

Happy hunting, gti's are great cars

Yeah the wheels don't quite look right to me, the osr wheel doesn't look genuine.......worth getting a good inspection done.

Might be genuine but photos on an industrial estate rather than on the forecourt and a mobile make me think that this is a mover rather than a trader

No doubt he'll offer to bring the car to you or meet somewhere convenient as he has no premises etc.

Car looks keenly priced to grab the buyer's attention but if the deal goes bad and he changes his mobile etc....

Seems very cheap too. If it seems too gd to be true, then it often is!

and not so sure a "dealer" would leave a can of pop in the centre and the sign in the back window?

Cheers guys, I'm not going to go and look at this one, it does seem a bit dodgy.
