Title: To keep or break?
Post by: General on 25 February 2013, 20:40
So I recently bought Golf 1.8 Gti non turbo, however, it has issues, all body work related, the drivers door has rust, the drivers wing has a decent dent and rust, the rear arch has rust and so does the passenger wing! The boot is jammed shut and the key has reset itself, it will only open from the passengers side with the key and then have to reach the drivers side to open it.

Clutch is on it's way out and ball bearing is going on the drivers side... Is this really worth me getting fixed? I bought it with the intention to fix it but then started having second thoughts...

What are your opinions?

Doesn't sound like there is much to sell off it  :undecided:

I know, I don't know if it's worth spending the money on either, really don't want to break but might not have a choice

I guess I have. Is there a breaking or for sale section or do I just post it on Ebay and put links on the forum?

tbh couldnt imagine you getting much for it if you broke it, most people want 1.8t engines so in reality the only things youde be able to sell would be the body work which as you say yourself isnt good.

got a 1.8 n/a here for sale cheep you can buy and take parts off to fix it ;) then split the parts that arent needed

brake the parts down and sell to your local scrappy for scrap metal pal unless you get a turbo lump replacement and theres a few shells for sale on here and ebay
