Title: td05 on my 1.8T?
Post by: kingaz on 24 February 2013, 21:01: Right my mates got a brand new td05 turbo literally lying around thay i can have if i can put it to good use.
Will this fit my golf?
If it fits what will the lag be like?
What other mods will be needed?

You can buy down pipes and exhaust manifolds but there not cheap new that why I made mine. Backdraft make some I think and a few other companys.

Basically it's using better parts from other turbo's and making them fit inside your standard K03, for example bolting a K04 compressor wheel and housing to your K03 and modifying it to be a direct fit. Usually a cheaper route as oem fitment is retained. Littco on here makes some pretty epic hybrid turbo's and he does it for a pretty affordable price!
