Title: gear linkage kit.
Post by: bretttuk on 28 July 2005, 13:14
Just bought the linkage repair kit from GSF as things are not tight on gear change , how difficult is this job ?? Just need to know, busy week next week for me... got to fit ..

New discs and pads all round , new bearings at rear , new calipers at rear , gear linkage , new solid engine mount ... might aswell get things upto speed on the car...

Depends what parts your changing on the linkage but there all quite easy. When i changed all of mine with the awesome kit i had the use of a 4 post ramp so nice and easy from undrneath. There were some white plastic ball link type things that were about a £1 each but they were the buggar to fit and kept cracking on fitting ended up spending about £8 til i got one to go on that was the easiest looking part but the most time consuming for me anyway. Not a difficult job just take your time.

its all pretty easy, but if your unsure try to do them one at a time so you don't forget how to put it all back!!! if you got the bottom ball socket thing which goes at the base of the gearstick, you'll have to drop the exhaust to get the shifter box out.
