195/50 is the better choice, 45 profile will affect the gearing and speedo.

I have seen a few people run 195/45's and it will affect the speedo by a few %

but I think it makes the wheels look lost in the large mk3 arches! stay with 195/50's as there cheaper and look better

how would it affect it? it would give better acceleration wouldn't it? not a bad thing...

i'm on 205 50s now so 195 50 may be the choice but i'd still like to see if anyone has any pics

there's a 5.12% difference in rolling radius, the very max should be 2.5% (and ideally 1%).... your speedo will miss read by about 10-12mph!

195/50/15's is the best choice, and easy to find.
