Title: what is under the heat shield that is behind the motor?
Post by: Jasikasisback on 23 February 2013, 15:27
I'm asking this as I have most likely dropped a socket behind it and can't fish it out while I was putting the thottle body back on.  I'm just wondering if it can just sit in there and I don't have to worry about it or do I need to get at it and remove it.It is just a 11mm socket, so not the biggest of things and it did not fall out when I moved the car. It had a little gap but now I have pushed it closed. Every other time it has fallen onto the ground, but not this time!.

You mean the heat shield on the car?

I don't think you got anything to worry about mate.

Should remove it because it can come out while your traveling bounce on the road and damage a car, possible cracking a screen. But won't harm your car.

But tyres. Paint and glass.

That will dent a car or crack the front screen.
