Anyone seen any deals or decent prices ?
I'm not to fussed about getting Dunlop sportmaxx's again as they haven't lasted very long.
Our tyres are 225 40 18 y

camskill have a good deal on Goodyear F1s at moment around £420 for 4 delivered so a good benchmark when shopping around
still amazes me VW put Dunlop on, they were shocking on my mk3 GTI

Save yourself some money and get some Hankook V12 Evo's.
I was skeptical at first as I'd only every had "premium" brands before, but these are equal to any Michelin, Conti, Goodyear I've had before and are wearing so much better too.

Id have to completely disagree with this, I had these on my Sportline van, and the handling was a bit numb, noisy and they wore out very quickly. Now have a set of GY F1's and the difference is night and day, I now actually feel attached to the road. However there is a massive price difference.

Different tyres work on different cars, and too be fair I've not tried them on the Golf. My experiences with them on my 2004 Passat have been quite the opposite to yours.

Got falkens on the front of my car and they are double dog s**t. Luckily they are nearly worn out so a set of GY F1's will be put on next.

Just been a 60 mile trip on tight twisty roads and they are a very grippy, not any noisier than the dunlops and seem perfect for me
