Title: Sorry but..... ford transit help pls
Post by: jonrandom on 22 February 2013, 15:51
Ive got a mk6 03 ford tranist and it had all the usual gear selecting problems so I replaced both linkages then after that the gears locked and I could only get 1st and 2nd.

I swapped the gear selector for a new one and I now have all gears but when I select reverse it clungs into gear then drives forward! All the other gears are fine but I just have no reverse.

Anyone have any ideas pls?

you need to adjust the cabels,    theres clip things on them you can undo and it allows you to adjust there length.

if doing on your own you put it in gear,  unclip the cabel adjuster   ( gear stick end of cabel )  then nudge the gear stick slightly away from the gear it wont reach  then put the clips in and try it.

right twerp on your own to do

Cheers for your help mate its all sorted now they make it easy on the transit once you know how. There is a bolt to lock the gear stick in place then just need to reset the cables to the right length and thats it sorted
