Title: General Price Tag -- How much should I fetch
Post by: kidhannn on 28 July 2005, 08:49: Hi Guys,
I am wondering how much I would fetch for a 1988 MK1 GTi Cab, if it had the following done to it:
-- Full Resprayed in Helios Blue
-- All Interior clean and original (not leather, just the originals kept in good state)
-- All engine clean with new sports shocks, timing belt, cambelt and recent full service.

-- Only downfall is no service history apart from my history and receipts over the last one year.

Post by: stu on 28 July 2005, 21:54: you can only get what someone is prepared to spendÃƒâ€šÃ‚Â :rolleyes: that's what my dad always says :grin: mines similar to yours and i want about Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£2500 someone might laugh at the price but someone else might be happy to spend it :laugh:

Post by: gibby on 29 July 2005, 09:00: I agree with Stu (and his dad :grin: ). Cabbies are hard to price and it really is whether someone thinks your car is worth what you are asking for it. I'll give you an example, there was a guy on here selling the exact same car as mine, same colour but his was a year younger on a K and he had it up for 6k :shocked: with a full service history, We saw the car in the flesh at GTI festival a few weeks ago and and we picked it apart, there was rust, dinks, scratches, sealant hanging off the rubber and apart from a bit of the interior and the history, it wasn't any better than mine but he got the full asking price for it. I don't think mines worth 6k but there's a lesson to be learnt. :smiley:
