Title: Hi From West Sussex
Post by: James5` on 20 February 2013, 08:17
Thought I would say hello as I will be on here a fair bit.  My name is James I am from Southwater in West Sussex.  Unfortunatly I don't own a golf but I own a Golf Mk4 Golf GTi 1.8t 20v engine so hope thats ok.  I am currently doing an engine conversion into my hobby which is a 1989 Renault 5 GT Turbo  :embarrassed: that has been converted to RWD so the 1.8t 20v lump is planned to go in the rear and I have an Adaptronic E420c engine management (Standalone).  I would upload some pic's but not sure how as yet and I can't access photobucket from my work pc.

I will be pestering the boards for advices when I get stuck very soon.

Feck :-(

Removed turbo and attempted to run car with no turbo and this is what's coming out of exhaust manifold

Suprisngly easier than I thought to get it out by myself was fearing the engine would have to come out the bottom.

The new donor engine

The engine has been cleaned up externally and freshly painted black block and gearbox cam cover is now Pink (don't ask that was the other Mrs's choice), I have fitted new cambelt kit and new bolt's, new water pump, new sparkies, new block breather fitted after I snapped the last one, I have also now managed to fit the Mk4 Golf GTi rad and twin fan setup into the R5 GTT.
