Carbon Steel grey metallic
Fontana red metallic.......
Wonder what cars these could be for ; )
-
What about the blue, as per the 5 door GTi concept from Frankfurt?
Please let that be on the GTi this time around!
Is this the Fontana?

It certainly looks like it : )

And the Blue?
Do you have a date yet for UK books to open for the GTi?
I understand Germany is week 10 (4th March onwards)

Nothing confirmed at all yet. We were told June 2012 roughly it should be open for orders. I will be placing a GTD 5 door manual order in carbon steel grey for one customer and a replacement for my edition 35 ; ) as soon as I know anymore rest assures you guys will know.
-
That Fontana Red is lovely, finally a colour to tempt me away from Candy White. However if they do a Tungsten Sliver equivalent that'll be getting my order.
-
Is there any confirmation on pricing for the GTI yet? Also In terms of demand do anticipate it being high for the GTi? I am assuming very unlikely there will be any disounting at least for first few months.
-
Yes demand will be high and allocation tight. Once allocation gets a bit more available 9-12 months later then deals may improve. Unlikely to get much if any discount on one for quite a few months. I have one order for a GTD already as soon as its available which will come out of GTI allocation. Had bloke in today who has Abarth 500 who wants to order a GTI as soon as available as he hates his fiat 500 for obvious reasons.......it was in some awful solid grey paint....
I am sure I will come up with something to attract members : )

That's great ,many thanks for your reply evo. When will first deliveries likely to be if orders placed in May do you know when delivery would likely be?
Trying to decide what to do at present, currently running a Mk 5 GTi, and have been considering switching to a 3 series, but new GTI could well keep me with VW I think.
-
Also thinking of ditching the Audi and going with the GTD if figures work out.
-
Generally I would expect from order to delivery around 3 months depending if dealer has allocation. A new 3 series vs a new GTI

The a1 ain't quite a gtd is it?

Heh thanks for response...
If I did go with the BMW i think i'd probably look to get one 9-12 months old. Several kicking around in the network and prices seem to be coming down.
Have previously owned 3 series BMWs before and all have them have been a great drive.I Particularly like the styling of the new 3 series in msport trim which is what i'd go for. Personal taste though and I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
Equally however my mk5 has been brillant and I have run this for 4 years now mainly because it's been such an excellent all rounder. I guess this is what helps make the case for a mk7. Also it's slightly cheaper and more practical.

What's the carbon grey steel colour like? (apart from grey?!)
Is it the same as the current carbon grey?

Carbon steel grey is the same paint code and to my eye the exact same colour.

Thanks Lee
I've always liked the Carbon Grey but will see how the other colours look on the car
-
Thanks Lee, the red ones could do with good polish!
-
As said in my other post, I'm going for.

A colour on paper I thought I would never go for and certainly not my usual choice but I really like it. IMO suits a non performance model very well. So bored of black, red and white these days.

The Fontana red is available on the Passat CC already, anyone ever seen it?
