Title: Stuck at home, AGAIN!
Post by: murraymint on 19 February 2013, 07:18
Didn't make it to work again today due to the bloody car! Had to fill the coolent bottle up twice and didn't even make it a mile away from home. Think the ice last night made the hole in the rad bigger

I experienced the same thing with my GTI, after a while it runs of out of things that can go wrong, and I've finally had a couple of months of trouble free motoring.

I managed 400 miles trouble free

Wish I had a sun roof, then I wouldn't have feckin aircon which is giving me the complications

Dude you've done so much to it already.....push on and get it fixed. I did the rad on my old one....no air on, but was only about £60 IIRC and that included temp sensors

Better the devil you know! You could change it and get the same faults or even worse!

Gotta expect these kind of things with 16/17 year old cars!

Had mine 10 years now and generally been very good, I guess the worst I have had to do on it was the radiator but that only took 4 or 5 hours and most of that was deciding how to do it!

stick with it murraymint! you've put south work in to it, eventually it'll run out of things to go wrong and you'll be glad to keep it when it does
