Title: AGU over fueling and maf readings ???
Post by: Dave-iow on 18 February 2013, 19:52
evening all MK2 is running a little to rich for my liking. So looking for info on what the maf readings should be and or common problems that cause over fuelling.

1st off will try and get a maf to try see if its that! But what else..

Its an AGU Lump, with stage 1ish map, 2.5 Downpipe, all pipe work 2.5, induction filter, forge valve, front mount etc

So any ideas on what the MAF readings should be so we can see whats what

Dave :undecided:

Log MAF 002, n75 025 and there's a lambda voltage in the 30s somewhere you can make AFR graph up from

Haha, simple enough.

3rd gear, about 1200rpm area, and floor it and hit redline at full throttle.

Post results up here and ill cast a eye over them see if i can see anything.

A over-reading MAF can throw fuelling out.  Is it a NEW genuine unit?  Even replacement parts have been known to be out.

Right well got some readings today. Max was 130 g/s but was all over the place.

Does the Activated charcoal filter solenoid / acf/ N80 valve need to be plugged in or need a resistor fitting (bearing in mind this engine is in a mk2) to make the ecu adapt the fuel trims.

Suspect the car is not adapting fuel trims as it was showing an error in VCDS and might explain why the car is running rich?! !?

Any help would be great :(

162bhp roughly.

I dont think the charcoal canister plays any direct play in fuel trims.

Have you got the log to hand?

No fraid not, was my mate at work with the vcds. Had another go tonight with the charcoal filter plugged back in, doesn't run as rich now but only managed 134/136.

So might be the maf..  :undecided:
