Thanks

Black and round with some tread are the best ones .

195/45/16 should be fine, what offset are your wheels.
-
And width
-
Depends what you want? Depends how low you are.
Grip, then right width tyre for rim with 40 side wall
Comfort same again but 50 sidewall
Stretch that depends on wheel spec

215/40/16 are what VW fitted, I run 205/45/16.

how much are they? My toyo t1r's fall to bits on a hot day and that's with really low pressures too.

For the love of god do not buy Rainsport 2's. As far as grip goes then yes they're very good, but they have so much sidewall flex that they'll give you no feedback or confidence in hard cornering. I'm running Falken 452's now and I've got to say, I'm very impressed, much much more than the T1R's.

When I put them on the front of mine the car felt like it snaked a lot from the front when leaning on them, and it didn't give me the confidence to push on although I knew the grip was there, it was a feedback and confidence issue. Went back to T1R's and back to business as usual (I then put the rainsport 2's on the back and because there isn't so much weight over them they were ok, but still not great).
