Title: Parts recommendations
Post by: AGGGTi on 18 February 2013, 17:21
Hi, just after some good part recommendations for front wheel bearings, abs sensors and lower balljoints or even if they are still main dealer stocked for late mk3 5 stud hubs (If that makes any difference). Just finding alot of aftermarket parts are becoming more and more poor quality and wanting decent bits for when i do a rebuild. Prices and companies/links would be great! Also good quality gearbox oil, any recommendations? Any help appreciated

Thanks

I use Europarts with the clubs 25% discount and never had any issues with quality although i've heard the body panels are a bit iffy, most people seem to recommend syntrax for your g/box but i've always used comma products and never have any problems.

Cheers, had given them a thought, but someone i know in the trade whos fitted their parts reckons he's forever having issues with them. Which is a tad off putting, maybe its just an over exageration! May give them a go, along with GSF. Unless anyone has any better ideas?

They do cheap stuff and OEM stuff, cheap stuff is more cheaply made OEM stuff is a bit more expensive.
Buy the OEM stuff and still save money over VW, use VW for the bits Euro's don't have and take your lube.

Awesome  thanks, may drop in at the weekend then or have a look online when i get a chance and get some prices. As long as the stuff is oem quality im happy, just sick of Aut-x brake discs and Euroflow exhausts and the like with their hit and miss production quality lol
