Don't really know what this thread is about....
-
I think he's asking if anyone knows which sump he needs for his car?
-
If your thinking about lowering at some point its worth spending a bit more and getting one of these.
Shallow sump with steel bottom. I eventually got one of these after smashing 3 normal sumps.

well mine has a hole in it thats someone as tried to repair. just after a standard one. would mine have an oil level sensor :\ car isnt here atm so cant check, would have thought they all would have?
-
easy way to tell, go out, stick your head under the car, and see which your sump looks like, the one with the sensor or the one with out the sensor.
-
like i said... i dont have my car here so cant just nip out and check. sure someone must know ... would have thought they all had oil levels...
-
Mines a 99 and doesn't have a sensor, from what I've seen early ones don't have sensors
-
oh ffs lol wasnt getting an answer so i thought to be safe buy one with sensor, grrr! owell

Looks like people were trying to help you mate, but you only gave them 24 hours!
When you did the oil change, did you not notice if it had a sensor then? I'm pretty sure its quite a hefty plastic part that sits on the underside of the sump, so should be quite easily noticeable - sits over where the big hole is in the picture on the eBay link you posted. If it turns out you don't have a sensor, you're going to have an even more leaky sump when you're done as you'll have nothing to plug the massive hole!
I'd say you got your answer from the lads below, anyway - go and have a look. If you don't have the car available to you, then there's not much else you can do. I'd have said be patient, have a look at the car when you can, maybe even check the part number on the existing sump and then match it up with the new part you want to buy. Tricky, ain't it?

well 1st off i never did the oil change garage did or obviously id know. (altho i do state i did it oops :P)
2nd i kinda needed an answer asap as need it by monday and theres no such thing as next day delivery in scotland.
3rd sorry cant see an answer from the lads below... apart from when dan commented

Gotcha - I thought you'd done the oil change so wondered how you didn't spot it then!! Makes sense now
Hopefully it's the right one mate, otherwise you might be knackered! Did it say in the listing if it comes with a blanking plate, or was that the one without the sensor hole - I can't remember. Anyway hopefully it'll do the trick.
How bad's your leak anyway? My sump seeps slightly from the sump plug, but without getting a new sump or getting it repaired there's not much I can do - it's only a slight drip every now and again and it doesn't really affect my oil levels so I'm just gonna have to put up with an oil spot on the drive!
