Title: radiator fans
Post by: dstv on 17 February 2013, 18:26
Hi guys

I have asked this before but had no luck. my radiator fans kick in for no reason and runs for about 2=3 min then stops. I turned the ignition key today and turned it off and the fans just started running...thats without even starting the car. I had it with the mechanic last week who checked it for a hour with vagcom plugged in and everything temp. wise gos up as normal then cools down as normal. he said it could be my ecu as everything else seems to be ok...could my ecu be the problem here

is the air con on? if so turn it off and see what happens with the fans as they run when it is turned on. next thing will be the fan control unit has started going a bit wild. also is there enough water in the car?

Aircon....but like i said I turned the key without starting the car and the fan kicked in...so would the
aircon or not having water in the car cause it to run
