Title: Storing photos

right then folks

found a lot of my old photos - going back 35+ years

too many for albums so whats the best way to store them ?

air tight containers or just neatly in a cardboard box

The good old faithful cardboard box has always done for me.

Depends where you're storing them.
If they're going to be in the dry house, a cardboard box will probably be ok. If they might end up in a cold place like a loft or garage, you'll want something better. I have a lot of my old photos in plastic semi-sealed boxes in my parents garage (because there's no other space). But they are just photos from my youth, memories of teenage years, nothing of artistic value  :laugh:

I would be tempted to put them in sealable plastic boxes and make a start on scanning them in, or at least scan in the important ones, the ones of the family and kids especially.
You could just hand over the photos to someone and pay to have them scanned in, but depends on how many photos you have.
I'm dreading inheriting my dads photo collection. 1000's of rolls of film, only about 30 photo albums, boxes of slides, that'll keep me busy  :sad:
