it wont stop the condensation though
It will if that's the cause of water entering the car.

Its not.

ive just had really bad condensation in car all caused by a wet pollen filter due to the small plastic cover above having a crack in it

You know that for a fact?
Damage to the pollen filter surround, allowing water to soak into the car through the pollen filter is pretty common.

so how is changing the pollen filter gonna sort that ??

Changing the filter alone wont, but if he checks his old one & it is soaked then chances are he's found where the water is entering the car. The problem would be the housing, and once sorted he would need to change the filter anyway.
You're either being stupid or pedantic, I hope that for your sake it's the latter.

You seem to have a big problem with me. I have had my fair share of BS from you over in the mk3 section, back off you plank. I am simply stating that I am sure it is not his pollen filter, he would have checked it along with his scuttle panel. There are loads of people with leaking issues on here and it has nothing to do with the filter or the housing.
