Title: iPod sounds pants!
Post by: GGsGTI on 15 February 2013, 19:31

Can anyone assist, please?

Bought a second hand iPod nano off eBay. Transferred music from my laptop but the sound is very poor when I play it through the media connection in the car. Sounds as though it's distorted even at low volumes. (Mk 6 Golf GTI with RCD 510)

I'm going to have a play with the settings over the weekend, but just wanted a bit of advice in case it was something simple, which could save me 2 days faffing with settings.

Cheers,

GG

Try this:

Setup > Media > AUX INPUT

Choose either Low or Medium (avoid High).  You'll then need to dial up the volume button to get decent sound but distortion, especially at high volume, should be reduced.

Don't know if you've got Dynaudio but try reading this thread for sound settings  http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=181860.msg2260317#msg2260317.  Page 4 onwards

Cheers for that, I'll give it a try.

Had a play with the iPod settings a little yesterday, which made a bit of a difference, but still not great.

BTW yes it is a dynaudio

Thanks again.
