Title: 1.8t running problem can any1 help?
Post by: Kenzie07 on 14 February 2013, 19:02
Hi this is my first time on hear, iv got a mk4 1.8t gti with the agu engine over the last few months iv had afew problems with it come up iv put my vag code reader on and its come back saying (16795 secondary air injection system incorrect flow detected) (17705 pressure drop between turbo and D.V) (17545 fuel trim: bank 1 (add): system too rich) Im at a loss iv replaced the plugs and coil packs, and put a new Forge Split R dump valve on and none of this has made a big diffrence im thinking of a new cam belt, air oil and fuel filter and fresh oil. The stater motor has started to stick and it has a strong smell of fuel when first starting up and has intermitent losses of power when driving and when you boot it or set off from the lights it feels like the turbo isnt boosting properly from time to time. Im at a total loss with it can anyone offer any suggestions of where to go next with it?? any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys and galls

Do you have rough idle? And crappy mpg?  Unplug the maf and take it for a spin see if it boosts like it should

Ditch the Split R and fit the 008p. 1.8Ts hate atmospheric DV's

Something strange going off as agu didn't have secondary air injection!
I'm thinkin that maybe it has the wrong Ecu??  :undecided:
But first Fitch the split r and check all pipes for splits As its indicating a boost leak. Also possibly a cracked turbo.
