Thought I would change the oil for peace of mind even though last owner said it was done recently.
Thing is my engine is out of an Audi TT......How do I know what filter to get as they did a few, the 150, 180 and 225.
-
whats the engine code?
steel can or filter insert?

It is a steel can mate.......Just going to check engine code......
Im back!! It is....BUR
-
yours is not the 225 engine
its the 150 / 180 version you would need, but if its now running a K04, im guessing it will be running the TIP from a S3, and a S3 MAF, in that case it will need a S3 filter like mine, iv got a K&N 57I
-
I would run a standard genuine one.

Just looked through some of the Dyno's. First Dyno says 153bhp as standard then 210.8bhp after map so indeed it must be the 150bhp version I have. The next Dyno sheet is very blurry and reads 279bhp but does not have the car reg beside it, almost like it has been copied?
The is a VW/Audi parts place just a few miles from me. So I need to ask for a BUR engine code 150bhp oil filter?

Yep but from memory they are all the same.
-
Interesting..... I called VW/Audi parts and they say the engine code BUR does not exist and the part number on the oil filter cant be seen due to the length of time it has been on there :undecided:
-
I read bvr on the advert
-
You need a MANN W 719/30 or Bosch 0 451 103 314 or equivalent.

Of course bud, just testing that you read it correctly.........I am going to go and hide now
On a serious note.....Thank you......It looks like BUR on the block. Time for a visit to Specsavers!

-
just realised you said oil filter and not AIR filter ha
All 1.8T (and may other VWs and Audis) use the smae oil filter, so just get one for any 1.8T

Legend.....Thanks mate
Also going to buy some spark plugs as thought I might as well. I think I will stick to the ones VW use instead of say Bosch Super 4s.

NGK's are the better choice and is what I used after asking in the mk4 section.
-
Ngk BKR7E is what I use, it's a colder plug than the normal S3 one and better for high output and mapped cars
About 2£ each copper,
Go for copper it's better for conductivity but will need changing every 5k miles or so
Standard ones are NGK PFR6Q

Just ordered some off Ebay mate, thank you for that info
Took my car to VW earlier. Parts guy had a look and said 'Cant see the oil filter part number so cant help' How useful was that! He said there are many different ones? Mine is a can type, not an insert one.
