Title: Wobbling like a pair of t**s
Post by: Adz Gti on 13 February 2013, 02:51
Right i've had enough of this bullsh** Golf of mine, i get one thing sorted and another thing goes wrong.

DRIVING AT 30MPH BEHIND A FEW FRIENDS AND I HEAR ABOUT 2 - 3 NOCK NOISES THEN SUDDENLY......WOBBLE WOBBLE, THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS WOBBLING NOT CONSTANT BUT MOSTLY, FIRST GEAR TAKE OF IS FINE, SECOND GEAR SLOWLY PICKING UP SPEED AND AGAIN WOBBLE WOBBLE AND IM TALKING LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT, SO I PARKED UP TOOK THE ALLOY OFF AND CHECKED THE DRIVESHAFT, ARB, COILOVER, WISHBONE, BUSHES ALL SEEMS FINE, PUT THE WHEEL ON AGAIN WHILE BEING JACKED UP I TRIED MOVING THE ALLOY 12 O'CLOCK 6 O'CLOCK BUT THAT WAS FINE SO NO BEARING PROBLEM, I SWITCHED THE ALLOY OVER TO THE RIGHT AND NOW IM PRETTY SURE THAT THE ALLOY IS BUCKLED ? COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE ?

To be fair thats a harsh comment^^

But back on topic,
Best way to find out if your wheel is buckled is put a diff set of wheels on and go for a drive, if the wobble is gone then yea uts buckled. Or if you dont have another set of wheels pop down to kwik fit or a tyre place and ask them if you slap them a tenner will they just pop your wheels on the balance machine to see if there buckled. I have done this myself they shouldnt mind.

Otherwise are you certain 100% that your strut/top mount is not loose?

Make sure your tyre is ok and a the weights are still on the alloy.

+1 check the weights not come flying off. if you have a spare wheel in the boot put that on to the one
You suspect is buckled and take it for a spin

+1 on weights, annoying bloody things when they come off, what you posted are the exact characteristics when I lost a weight (my ti$s still do though )
