Hello.
I'm new and my first obscure question to all you geniuses is.....
Do all mk2 gti's have three seat belts in the rear?
I.e. 2x3 points and a lap belt.
All the pics I have seen for the big bumpers versions do but not all for the pre '89s
Thanks in advance.

Welcome
Seatbelts in the rear were a compulsory fitment in 1987 so they should have them fitted!
I'm pretty sure from memory that all MK2s had them fitted as standard equipment a few years earlier on its introduction, generally it was cheaper cars that still had them omitted, but all cars from much earlier would have had the mounting points welded into the structure, to accommodate fitting at a later date
so could be properly retro fitted
Again, I'm going by memory...
