i've got a 1.3 mk2 and it came with gti clocks installed, is it possible to change the stalk to allow me to access the mfa secret menu? or will it not work at all?
thanks

Doubt it would work as the engine would be missing quite a few of the sensors, and algorithms in the ECU

and algorithms in the ECU
weren't 1.3 motors with injection only continent only?

you could change the stalk, but I have no idea where the 4 wires off the stalk would goto.
You could get MPG since this is just a simple vacuum off the inlet manifold.
Trip time and miles might work as well as average speed
oil temp would need a sensor, but again no idea where to wire this up to and the same with outside temp

Look at the Rubyjonny FAQ for where the four wires go. then as dizzie said, the MPG works from the inlet vacuum (might need a new non return valve with two outlets), trip and average speed work, oil temp you need a sensor (i have heard that you use a new sump plug with a sensor built in but i never botherd) and the outside temp is just plugged in to the sensor in the bottom of the wing (whihc you get from a GTI).
all in all, i think it was 6 wires - earth, reset, position 1/2 and the MFA button from the stalk, and then the two temp senders. Easy to do. I couldnt find a GTI stalk when i did mine, so i just used an old fascia switch and put some switches in it.

interesting it would be worth it even if i get the MPG to pop up as i'm pretty sure i'm going through petrol like i go through redbull and that's a lot lol.

the only way to check MPG is to fill it, drive it, fill it then do the maths
MFA mpgs are about as reliable as my Vectra

HAHAHA is it, sounds like i need a road trip then lol. just seems like im using more petrol on a 1.3 mk2 than i did on a 1.4 mk3. i blame the 2e3 carb.

what mpg are you getting?
