Hi all,
Thinking about getting a new induction kit for my PD150 and possibly a new better performance air-filter.
Question: which one?
Pipercross: http://affilate.potn.com/product_info.php?cPath=2200&products_id=1535305
Pipercross Viper: http://affilate.potn.com/product_info.php?cPath=2276&products_id=1536247
K&N: http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=57-0451
Puzzled... really...
Also, is it right that an iduction kit replaces the need for an ai- filter?
thx

Come on guys! One month and no replies? Really want to go ahead with this, but have no idea what to get... thx

i think all of those kits would give you maf related running problems after a while (they dont flow THAT much better than the stock setup anyway), and on top of that.. induction kits on PD golfs sound completely pants, yes.. worse than the tractor noise it already makes :lipsrsealed:
put the money for the induction kit towards a decent exhaust to get yourself flowing better, and go for a green cotton panel filter as a direct replacement for the oem item.

Now we're talking! Thanks for the info topher.

Hey, could you help me on this matter aswell?
I have a 1.8 GTi (125bhp) and was thinking of an induction kit. What's different between an induction kit and an air filter, and what would be good to buy for it?
Cheers guys.

kingell....
have same model mk4 as you, i fitted a k+n 57i idnuction kit which i won from golf mag in jan 2004 (star letter) lol, this was ok for a bit, sounded shate really, and in the end f@cked up my maf sensor which is a comon problem with pre oiled induction kits/filters, there is bits and bobs you can do, but a decent dry induction kit, cant remember the name but there expensive!!, you can get a remap to smooth out any flat spots, and you can get a cat replacement pipe and a better flowing exhaust, but in my experience i wouldnt bother... all that lot will cost you an arm and a leg, so sell it and get a more powerfull one.... or keep it standard, lower it and put some nice wheels on and just go for the looks... lol
it aint all about speed.... and unless you got a 1.8t/v5/v6/r32 mk4 your gonna struggle to get alot out of one of these!!
