Morning all,
Need some help with my exhaust heat shield, basically the front part of the shield under the gear selector was ruined and was taken out (the car currently isn't on the road) but I can't seem to find a new one anywhere!
Is there something else I should use or is it going to be a trip to the local scrappy?
Cheers

Try the dealers or tps (dont know the price but wont hurtnto find out) if not loads of people breaking mk3s or try the local scrappy as youv said

When I removed mine I used exhaust heat wrap which works really well and stops the heat transferring into the car.

Yes it does work but that is a lot more expensive than a heat shield. Also doesn't last nowhere near as long.

Its not that expensive tweedy and ive yet to see it deteriorate overtime ,just an option for him geezer.

Yeah I know. I go through meters of it in karting. Always changing the length of my exhaust and have to replace it a lot. But if you leave it alone its fine.
I would use the stuff if I had a turbo as its lowers engine bay temps, but just saying in this case I think a heat shield would be abetted option.

Well I can freely get hold of exhaust wrap so that might be a good plan :)

Yeah me too ,you cant beat free!
If you do it whilst exhaust still on the car then ppe is a must! as you will be under there a while.

Hahaha no I can't :) beer tokens ain't that much these days though :p
I will be taking the down pipe off anyway as need to sort out a couple of other bits!
Thanks for the help
