today while driving i noticed my oil light flickering. it will only flicker while idling, an hour later car stalled while driving it ( i was on a road trip to surf) this was after about an hour and 45 mins of driving. it wouldnt start by itself but it was cranking. it did start when we push started it though. we managed to get it to the beach and then when we went to leave it did the same thing and we managed to push it and got it going again. it died a couple more times on the way home but we made it. dont know why its doing this. just put in a new alternator and battery made sure all the connections were tight. gonna try cleaning the terminals tomorrow and tightening everything again on batt and alt.

Hi,
I am not a mechanic, but I had a similar problem. My garage found that the ignition switch was broken, and when I thought I had switched off the engine, that was not the case. This caused the battery to go flat. Hope this helps.

Like Smiggers says, I've always found my flickering oil light and stalling to be flat battery related. Usually solve it with a long run in the car with no lights, heater, wipers or radio on just to give the battery a good charge,
that always seems to fix it for me,
