Title: Flat spot
Post by: benjifou666 on 10 February 2013, 23:13
Got Gti 8v. Got it running fine but a flat spot around 4000rpm. Iv ha a look in the throttle body and thers 2 butterfly's and it sounds like its starving of fuel when the larger flap opens. Itl go right around when I feather the throttle but when stamp on it, it don't like it. Iv been told its the knock sensor or something but not a clue what it does or where it is. Anyone else had same problem?

Might be what they call 'digilag'. Requires a timing/fuel mixture tune up
