Well the golf has now been off the road for 12 months, decided this week to put her back on the road (had enough of waiting 45 mins for a bus in cold/rain/snow)
So booked her in for M.O.T down the road, only £29.99 but was dreading it as the car has been parked up over grass !
Anyway I knew 1 tank strap had gone (bought a replacement from main dealer for £16.28 trade) they quoted £35 labour as I couldn't get it loose.
She went in for the ticket and I watched, I don't know how many times the tester said its a nice car, and then passed it with a couple of advisories
1) tank strap, but tank is secure
2) LH rear brake pipes (rub down and Schultz )
3) RH rear brake pipes (same as above)
4) NSR bearing slight play (tighten slightly)
Oh and he put a sidelight bulb in.
Result MOT for £31.00 so I thought I'd try get it sorted today !
Got my new insurance for £313.00 with Lancaster, they emailed my cover note over, and thankfully the post office accepted the email on my iPhone !
I'm one happy and de-stressed chappy now !!!

just replace NSR bearing ;) tightening doesn't last.... can get febi kits for a tener....
lucky all you need on mk3s to change it is a hammer :D

Was thinking I'd replace it along with the tank strap anyway !
