Post by: Stevesgti on 08 February 2013, 21:51
Can anyone help I've got the job of replacing the rear struts and springs on my mk3 gti in a few weeks and can't remember if I need the two prong tool for removing the spring cap
Any help appreciated

No, you'll just need a 17mm or 19mm (sorry, can't remember which now) ring spanner or a deep socket. And possibly something to stop the piston from turning - you won't even need spring compressors.

Small spanner is all you will need to stop the piston turning (10 or 13mm from memory)
