Nice little back to back comparison from Auto Express with the new special edition 260bhp A1 Quattro and the old Audi Quattro.

Very nice :)

Even the newest ur-quattro is over 20 years old now, its never gonna be as quick around the track as a new car of similar spec. Still a great car and one of my all time favourites though!

40k for an A1 is crazy money but i bet it's awesome to drive!
-
40k would get you an 80s quattro that would probably give that a damn good thrashing!, gimme the original over that a1. much better looking
-
Good vid but really what was the point in that drag race at the end, of course the A1 was gonna lose against that quattro rallye 420bhp...
-
That front bumper on the A1 looks awesome
-
Bloke doesnt know what he's talking about; 'all The Audi range has Quattro'
Urm NO!! The A3 has the Haldex system; proper Quattro is on A4's and above. Got to love the marketing department
Anyhoo Id have the original

Original gets my vote, has to be better then a posh Polo
-
"the old girls brakes" i hate that. of course tech has moved on but you are more involved in older cars, and for 40k? id have the old one even if money was no object!

original all the way. shootouts like this are a bit pointless imo, technology is so advanced now that new versions will always be more efficient and handle better but they'll never touch the classics. saw a rocco shootout too, the new one performed better but I'd rather have the oldies!
