Title: Ebay special CAI
Post by: DubAndDubber on 07 February 2013, 18:15
Does anyone know the size of the supplied filter? Want to upgrade but I'm not taking the bumper off just to measure the bloody thing!

I'm sure someone on here changed the filter. May have been Wayne?! I've searched but can't find it. Cheers!

Do you mean the Carbonio style??

Ive got one of them and you can get to it from the inner wheel arch if you full lock the wheel. Slightly easier than removing the bumper if nobody knows the size.

Think its the same size as the MAF?

Its not particularly hard mate, grill out, 5 screws takes 2mins if no one has the size.

Mines got about 20 screws.

Undertray, both wheel arch liners and then the bumper, takes a good 15 mins with jacking it up lol.

Haven't got the time or space to take the bumper off atm. And yeah it's more like 10 screws!

What's best to replace it with? Always had k&n but they're a bit overpriced.

i think as said mate its about the same size as the maf  and its 12 screws but if you dont use them all your car will go faster due to less weight

Its 72mm IRC, but becareful using it in winter, if you suck up any water you will bend your valves and warp your head...

I did it on my first 1.8t engine and thats why I had to replace
