Hi guys wondering if anyone can help.
Basically couple weeks ago when we had the snow. driving home my gti started missfiring and juddering when coming to stop and sounds like it will stall but dosent but is fine when revs are above 1000.
Id get the odd bang from the back end when slowing down also.
I droped into local garage and it was missfiring on one cylinder and an air flow fault i cant remember now. The faults were wiped and the car has felt fine since the last few days. Starting normally and no juddering or firing. Why is this???
And im booked in for new spark plugs and sensor. As that was recommend for rectifying the problem that was happening last week.

What engine code is it?
What sensor are they planning to replace with the plugs? MAF probably for an air flow code. But if it hasn't come back after being cleared that's weird.
In all honesty it could be coil packs, ignition amp, maf, plugs and a few other things. I would want to know what sensor is being changed, but don't get a garage to do it, when it's a 15 minute job

Ill have to have a look tomorrow what engine code it is. Im not sure on sensor. I know the price was £110 fitted is that a stripe up?

A genuine MAF is around that from memory, I would check what sensor it is and let us know
Because if they are replacing the maf, plugs and your paying Labour 110 is cheap that is if they are planning to use a genuine MAF, don't go for anything but genuine on sensors it's not worth it
