Does anyone know what pas and alternator belt I need on eurocarparts, they always seem to have a big list to choose from and don't wanna get the wrongs ones :undecided:
-
they will be AC and non AC then different brands.
putting in your reg will surely give the right ones?

The descriptions on eurocarparts aren't really helpful, driving mad

without a/c you need:
v-belt 11.5/11.9 x 685mm
e.g. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_2.0_1997/p/car-parts/engine-parts/belts-chains-and-tensioners/car-drive-belt/?202440155&1&7ba6f7562303be16f4ef1ccd5c56015104b996f1&000108
ribbed belt 6pk892 or 6pk895 will also do if you got 70 or 90A alternator

or 6pk1040 if you got 120A alternator (which usually is on diesels or some high spec with lots of electrical extras)

well.... tbh i use a finnish site for checking which parts i need....
http://www.motonet.fi/web/guest/varaosat
you can display a list of all spares they sell for a model in text form, listing exactly where used...
a lot easier than the sadly more and more "touch" sh!te oriented other websites where it takes ages to find stuff.
only problem it is in finnish and mine is starting to slip (not that it ever was any good)
