Why have you GOT to buy a Disco 4 - what's the deal? Bit different to a GTI isn't it?

lol, i suppose GOT to is slightly over dramatic
Just when i bought the GTI i thought the XC90 would be replaced with something like for like.
Not a chance according to the missus.....shes had it 8.5 years blah blah blah
In all honesty, I thought it would be nice to have the GTI a year or 2 get rid and then buy a new FAMILY car however I wasnt expecting the GTI to be as good as it is thats why im so miffed
I do not want to run both the cars so the GTI going is the option....
I have however been converted and give it a year or 2 I will almost definately buy another
cheers

Good choice
I was in looking at the disco 4 on Sunday. Stunning car. Really considering a 1 year old one instead of my golf and the wife's altea. Makes more sense than 1 family car and 1 1 family car that never moves out if the garage.
Love the Stornaway grey with cream leather and wood dash.
The first car I have sat in for ages where I was really wowed by the car, especially the interior.
I liked the evoque and was surprised how spacious it was for a family car the the disco 4 is just class.

Rick, why don't you buy an older Disco/XC90 etc and keep the Golf?

Dubber, I think you're confusing me with pottinger, I've no intention of selling my R, it's by far the best [and most expensive] car I've ever owned. But I wouldn't have a Disco or XC90 as a second car anyway - too expensive to run.
-
Ooops :embarrassed:
-
They all come back!
See you in the mk7 section this time next year! :afro:

Don't buy a new Disco, buy a 2011 year one latest as they don't have DPF's, or the silly 8 speed gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel and rotary gear knob. The rotary know will wind you up pretty quickly!
Superb car otherwise

Hey guys,
Picking up new car 2nd march
Car dealer put my car down as part ex 17k instead if 17.5k part ex and reduced the discos price.
I'm going with the 17k unless someone wants a very cheap beauty of a 2011 gti , at 17.5k
Check the classified on here for spec.....
I've got till Thursday latest before it goes,
I'm away till tomorrow but pm me if interested...
Cheers

Must admit I don't get the Disco.
To me its too slow, too ugly, too thirsty and too unreliable.
Heard to may horror stories

Big 4x4 is not ment to be fast, will always be thirsty and the latest disco 4s are pretty reliable, not to mention they outsell the wonderful merc ml you have about 10-1 so would have a higher unreliablility rate anyways.
I will post pics of my black/black packed d4 and you can explain why your merc ml is so much better, and why I will have a permagrin driving mine that a merc ml can only dream of
Wtf, focus st bashing in your merc ml 4x4   :grin:Get a life......
Or better still buy a purpose built sports car to do that and leave the ml in the showroom
Thanks anyways
Potts
Ps
Thanks to everyone else for the best wishes, this is an excellent forum and I will miss it until I'm back

Not long to wait now - one of the guys had a Disco 4 in silver with all the bells and whistles - part ex'd it for an Evoque purely as it worked out £250pcm better for him but I still miss the Diso - always looked mint.
Back on topic - pics ASAP please
