Ok guys I'm stuck again I've got most of my exhaust off but stuck on the down pipe what size nuts are on the studs as I've tried 16mm and 17 mm and neither fit properly and I've had enough of it lol any help would be great guys
-
depends if it's been off before and what went back on mate.
OEM downpipe nuts are 16mm, most that you buy to replace will be 17mm
-
O rite I don't know whats going on with mine lol tried both and neither work lol I'm trying to fit the 3inch eBay exhaust lol
-
when you say neither work, why don't they work? have you tried bigger? or smaller?
-
Well the 16mm won't go over the nut and the 17mm is to big and just catches the nut but don't want to risk trying as it will just round it off buddy
-
sounds like its already rounded off if its slipping mate
-
Na it's not mate as I can see it I haven't tried it as I didn't want to mate lol and wanted to check what size they should be lol
-
Have you tried Getting an old imperial socket on them instead of a metric one
-
Try using deep sockets as when I took mine off they wouldn't go on far enough as the thread sticking through?
-
Sounds like the nuts might be a bit rusty. I would hammer the 16mm socket onto the nuts as you don't want them to round off
-
Cheers for the replys guys I'm go a try some different ones in the mornin and I would hammer one on there if there was enough room lol I stuggle to get my hand up there :)
-
try using an imperial socket rather than a metric socket set , see if it help because they are slightly different
-
6 sided sockets too.
