Title: Dashboard vibration noise
Post by: WeekendMechanic on 04 February 2013, 11:21
The noise comes from the middle of the dash and it starts in fourth gear.
I bought and garaged my golf before fixing it, without testing it on the road so i don`t know if the vibration noise was always there or after because a few months back, I took out the dash to pass an electric windows wiring loom.
Did I not put it back in right maybe that soft foam for the vents were not on properly surrounded?

Could be the sound deading material that you may have not put right. I would also check all the nuts to see if they are tight

Yes I tighten the outside nuts but it had no affect.
Just to be certain and have everything ready for when I dismantle can I ask, that sound deafening material if its on right or perished, can I use something else or would a vw dealer have it?

unfortunately things are never quite the same once they have been taken apart.

could be as silly as a connector or wire touching on somthing somewhere
