Title: Mk 4 GTi - replacement shocks
Post by: Hoonercat on 25 July 2005, 22:10
After over 120k miles I think it's time for the shocks to be replaced but I'm not sure whether to get original parts or after- market. A set of original shocks will probably cost about £95, how do after-market shocks compare for quality & price?

Thanks

i think if you were to go for bilstien or similar they'd last alot longer than vw stock items, if your car isnt currently lowered now would be the ideal time to think about lowering also!!!

Thanks for the reply, TBH cost is my main concern as the car also needs all bushes replacing and new front disks, as well as a service soon. At 122k miles it's a bit late to start thinking about throwing money at it for bling.
