anyone done it? I'm wondering what the difference in drivability is. wouldn't mind some more low end power on my 16v. it's great when it gets to the top but want that oomph quicker and at lower revs! is a 3.94 gearbox the way to go for this or not? I know this one will go through the gears a bit quicker, cheap acceleration, the box is about £130 on fleabay. there's a lot of top end speed on the abf I'm never going to use (never going to go 130!) so there's a willing sacrifice there. thanks

Which gearbox code is it?
I wasn't aware a Corrado came with an 02A & 3.94 FD.
The 3.94 FD into the 16v 'box with 16v ratios is a good mod.
You'd need to check the Corrado ratios...it's possible the overall gearing is no lower despite the 3.94.

I may have got that wrong, where did the 3.94 box come from?
what is mpg like with 3.94 gearbox? (I assume that 3.94 means the whole gearbox and is not specific to just one gear? don't know much on the subject yet)

It will shift the whole gearbox shorter. Ie it would be like turning 5th into 4th etc. but not so drastic. So it won't help economy, plus you will be planting your foot more due to the better acceleration you will have.
It won't be very good on the motorway but as mentioned, you need to know the code as it may not be quite as simple as that.
